Pisces White Ceramic Mug with Color Inside (15 oz) — Celestial

$24.00

Pisces is the sign of imagination. It stands for empathy, dreaming, and feeling what other people feel. If you were born February 19 – March 20, this one is yours.

WHAT THE ART MEANS

This is the same night sky turned inside out. Instead of a dark wrap, one side holds a round pool of deep midnight blue and indigo, and inside it are the two fish turning around each other in opposite directions, their vast veil fins trailing off into filaments, built out of glowing gold particles and indigo nebula gas with the real Pisces constellation laid over them in gold. The edge of that pool dissolves into the white ceramic — gas and gold star dust thinning out until there is nothing but the cup. No ring, no border, no dark square. The other side carries the name in deep antique gold: the Pisces glyph, a slim divider rule with star finials, PISCES in letterspaced gold capitals, and the epithet THE ENDLESS CURRENT in small caps beneath it. Pisces is the longest star figure in the collection — seventeen stars joined by seventeen lines — and it is built as two long chains meeting at a single bright knot. That knot is Alrescha, and the name means “the cord”: in the old star maps it is where the ribbons tying the two fish together are knotted. The two chains leave it at a clear angle, like an open V, exactly as they do in the sky. At the far end of one chain, over the head of one fish, five stars close into a small ring called the Circlet. Its inside is empty, and it is a genuinely closed shape — unusual, because most zodiac star figures are open chains that never close. It is drawn here for one reason: it is really up there. The brightest star of the sign is not Alrescha but Alpherg, the third star along the other chain, and that is the one that burns largest and warmest. Pisces is also one of the two signs allowed a cool steel-blue accent, and this is where it is strongest — through the veil fins and the turning current, still clearly under the gold.

The whole Celestial collection is drawn one way. The ground is a deep midnight-navy night sky. The sign’s figure is made entirely of light — glowing antique-gold particles and indigo nebula gas, with nothing outlined and nothing filled in solid. Over that figure sits the sign’s real constellation: the actual stars in their actual positions, joined by thin gold lines that land on the body. It is meant to feel like a page from a star atlas rather than fantasy art — quiet, dark, and precise.
