WHAT THE ART MEANS

This is the same night sky turned inside out. Instead of a dark wrap, one side holds a round pool of deep midnight blue and indigo, and inside it are the two mirrored figures, built out of glowing gold particles and indigo nebula gas with the real Gemini constellation laid over them in gold. The edge of that pool dissolves into the white ceramic — gas and gold star dust thinning out until there is nothing but the cup. No ring, no border, no dark square. The other side carries the name in deep antique gold: the Gemini glyph, a slim divider rule with star finials, GEMINI in letterspaced gold capitals, and the epithet THE MIRRORED SOULS in small caps beneath it. Gemini is the only sign in the zodiac that is two people, and the constellation is built the same way: two long figures side by side, sharing one patch of sky. Castor and Pollux, the twins’ two brightest stars, burn at the crowns of the two heads and are joined by a single line across the space between them.
