WHAT THE ART MEANS

Same wraparound design as the black mug, redrawn for white ceramic. The background is pure white so it disappears into the cup, and deep lapis blue does the work the black used to do — the stars and outlines are blue instead of glowing gold on dark. One side has the Cancer symbol in a gold cartouche with CANCER beneath it and the real Cancer constellation above. The other side is a crab with a carved, beetle-like shell sitting under a large gold crescent moon. Columns of crescents, lotus flowers, and ankhs frame the handle. The crescent moon is included because the Moon rules Cancer, and the shell is carved like a scarab, an Egyptian symbol of protection. A cartouche is the oval, rope-edged frame Egyptians carved around a name that mattered, so putting the zodiac symbol inside one treats your sign like a name worth protecting.

The whole Ancient Egypt collection is drawn in antique gold, sandstone, and teal with deep lapis blue, printed in a flat, carved-relief style like painted stone. It is meant to look like something dug up rather than something printed — old, warm, and a little worn. We are not claiming ancient Egyptians drew the zodiac this way. We took their art style and used it to tell the sky’s story.
