Pisces is the sign of imagination. It stands for empathy, dreaming, and feeling what other people feel. If you were born February 19 – March 20, this one is yours.

WHAT THE ART MEANS

One big emblem fills the whole side of the bag, so it reads from across a room. Two fish circle each other in opposite directions — one high and swimming down, the other low and swimming up, each one’s long tail sweeping past the other’s head so the pair reads as a single slow turning wheel. Their fins are enormous: dorsal, tail and pectoral fins drawn as vast gauzy veils of fine radiating filaments, longer than the fish themselves, drifting in the current. They are drawn not with lines but out of thousands of glowing gold particles and drifting indigo nebula gas, with a restrained cool steel blue washing through the veil fins and the turning current — an apparition made of starlight rather than a picture of animals. Laid over them is the real Pisces constellation — bright gold stars joined by fine gold lines that land along both fish. Veils of nebula spread out sideways as well as down, and fade to nothing well before the edges. Along the bottom sits the collection lockup: the Pisces glyph, a slim divider rule with star finials, PISCES in letterspaced gold capitals, and the epithet THE ENDLESS CURRENT in small caps beneath it. Nothing is printed behind the art — it goes straight onto black canvas, so the bag itself is the night sky. Pisces is the longest star figure in the collection — seventeen stars joined by seventeen lines — and it is built as two long chains meeting at a single bright knot. That knot is Alrescha, and the name means “the cord”: in the old star maps it is where the ribbons tying the two fish together are knotted. The two chains leave it at a clear angle, like an open V, exactly as they do in the sky. At the far end of one chain, over the head of one fish, five stars close into a small ring called the Circlet. Its inside is empty, and it is a genuinely closed shape — unusual, because most zodiac star figures are open chains that never close. It is drawn here for one reason: it is really up there. The brightest star of the sign is not Alrescha but Alpherg, the third star along the other chain, and that is the one that burns largest and warmest. Pisces is also one of the two signs allowed a cool steel-blue accent, and this is where it is strongest — through the veil fins and the turning current, still clearly under the gold.

The whole Celestial collection is drawn one way. The ground is a deep midnight-navy night sky. The sign’s figure is made entirely of light — glowing antique-gold particles and indigo nebula gas, with nothing outlined and nothing filled in solid. Over that figure sits the sign’s real constellation: the actual stars in their actual positions, joined by thin gold lines that land on the body. It is meant to feel like a page from a star atlas rather than fantasy art — quiet, dark, and precise.
