Capricorn is the sign of the long climb. It stands for patience, ambition, and getting there one steady step at a time. If you were born December 22 – January 19, this one is yours.
WHAT THE ART MEANS
The front is one tall piece of art. A sea-goat rises out of the dark — the head and forelegs of a goat in front, the body trailing away behind into one long curling fish tail — drawn not with lines but out of thousands of glowing gold particles and drifting indigo nebula gas. Off to the lower left a small cluster of sharp crags rises with it, built from exactly the same gold filaments and indigo gas and dissolving into black the same way. This is the only piece in the collection with any terrain in it at all, and it is deliberately not a landscape: there is no horizon, no ground, and the goat is not standing on anything. The crags are another apparition in the night, and the sign’s epithet names them. Laid over it is the real Capricorn constellation — bright gold stars joined by fine gold lines that land on the body. Nebula wisps trail off the silhouette and fade into nothing well inside the edges. Along the bottom sits the collection lockup: the Capricorn glyph, a slim divider rule with star finials, CAPRICORN in letterspaced gold capitals, and the epithet THE SUMMIT TIDE in small caps beneath it. Nothing is printed behind the art — it goes straight onto dark fabric, so the shirt itself is the night sky. Capricornus is one of the few zodiac figures whose star pattern truly closes: ten stars joined in a single unbroken loop that comes back to where it started, a big lopsided arrowhead lying on its side with nothing at all inside it. Its brightest star is Deneb Algedi, and the name means “the tail of the goat” — in the art it burns largest and warmest exactly where the fish tail begins. At the far end sit Algedi and Dabih, the two stars of the goat’s head; Algedi is a trick of distance, two unrelated stars that only look side by side from here, and sharp eyes can split them without a telescope. None of these stars are bright, so the art draws them scaled against each other rather than against the rest of the sky — that is what keeps the loop readable instead of letting it fade out.
The whole Celestial collection is drawn one way. The ground is a deep midnight-navy night sky. The sign’s figure is made entirely of light — glowing antique-gold particles and indigo nebula gas, with nothing outlined and nothing filled in solid. Over that figure sits the sign’s real constellation: the actual stars in their actual positions, joined by thin gold lines that land on the body. It is meant to feel like a page from a star atlas rather than fantasy art — quiet, dark, and precise.
